My love for Havanese began in 2002 when I got my first pet Havanese, Beau. I had researched the breed and soon learned he was everything I had hoped for ! We started attending dog shows for fun and decided we wanted to show a puppy and make her a champion. She was CH JUBOLEE’’s Catalina Rosa. “Katie “I learned even more about Havanese and dog shows in the process. We were heartbroken when they passed over the rainbow bridge at 14 1/2 and 16. 1/ 2 years old.
I am a retired kindergarten teacher. I miss teaching and nuturing little ones. That’s why I decided to become a breeder. I get to combine my early childhood education skills with my love of Havanese.I’m currently using the Puppy Culture Protocol for breeders to provide ideas for sensory enrichment, introducing novelty experiences each day, training against puppy resource guarding,, coming on command, etc. I’m also blessed with wonderful breeder mentors who have shared advice.
Currently I have one pet Havanese, Lola and one champion Havanese, CH Ozark Sun Dancing In the Moonlight “Dolly”. I plan to breed on a very limited basis, with this being my first litter.The puppies are from AKC CH and GCH lines. The parents have passed all health tests and meet or exceed the standards of the Havanese Club of America. Dolly has had hips, patella, cardiac and eyes tested, along with BAER hearing .Both the sire and dam have OFA and Chic numbers
